I was listening to a podcast about the best decade in rock music and decided to collect my top twenty albums since I was born in December 1956. I tried with only ten albums but could not make it. And I ended up with a few more than twenty.
I reviewed the vinyl LP collection my brother and I had. There were about 1.000 LP´s. Also, my CD´s section, about 800 CDs although more than 50% were already the digital version of the old vinyl.
After a detailed review, I would go for the following. They are NOT ordered in any way, and I am sure I forgot a few, but this should be my first draft.
Many of them are included not because the album itself, but because it was the first album I bought from that artist, band or songwriter and after many years I almost have the full discography.
1. 1973 Dark side of the moon - Pink Floyd
2. 1975 Born to run - Bruce Springsteen
3. 1973 Goodbye Yellow Brick Road - Elton John
4. 1972 Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust & the Spiders from Mars - David Bowie
5. 1972 Desperado – The Eagles
6. 1972 Harvest - Neil Young
7. 1972 Made in Japan - Deep Purple
8. 1973 Yessongs - Yes
9. 1971 Tapestry - Carole King
10. 1970 All things must pass - George Harrison
11. 1971 Aqualung - Jethro Tull
12. 1978 Running on empty - Jackson Browne
13. 1973 Houses of the holy - Led Zeppelin
14. 1974 461 Ocean Boulevard - Eric Clapton
15. 1973 Brothers and sisters - Allman Brothers Band
16. 1974 The Lamb lies down on Broadway - Genesis
17. 1974 Pretzel Logic - Steely Dan
18. 1972 The Slider - T. Rex
19. 1976 Boston - Boston

Although I said it was difficult to select only 10 albums, It will be easier for me to select only one album.
Back in 1973, I was finishing the pre-university year. At that time called COU. For my birthday, my friends gave me as a gift Pink Floyd´s “Dark side of the moon” that I liked it very much. I keep that LP with all my friend’s signatures and comments.
No doubt it is the album I´ve listened to more often in my life. From time to time, I listen Dark Side of the Moon complete, headsets, high volume, no lights and all the songs in a row. That is how it needs to be listened. It was the first of many Pink Floyd albums I bought and Pink Floyd became an iconic band to me.

In 1988 we had the opportunity of watching Pink Floyd live in Madrid. Unbelievable experience and at that time, best concert I´ve ever been to.
Dark Side of the moon was launched March 1st, 1973. In 2003, for the celebration of the 40th anniversary, one of the approved Pink Floyd´s tribute bands, Australian Pink Floyd made a European tour playing Dark side of the moon in one time, as it is in the album. We travelled to Edinburg to watch it at Usher Theater. The songs are so great, the concert reminded us on the old original Pink Floyd band days and we enjoyed Edinburg, beautiful city.
I can only say that Dark Side of the Moon is like a doctor prescription. You need to listen to it once a month, minimum, you will feel better and your life will be happier.
